All Clear!
We got the results of Garrett’s blood work back today. He is not allergic to anything that they tested and he is not anemic. He can develop an allergy to anything at anytime but as of right now he is all clear.
So, we are moving on to table foods. Today he fed himself Gerber fruit and veggie puffs that was fun. That is the only thing that I have found that he does not gag on. Scooter loves them; he thinks that the baby is eating kitty treats. He is not too sure of canned apples, carrots or green beans. But who is? They don’t have much flavor. He does like banana pieces, not to eat but to squash between his fingers. I mixed in banana pieces in his applesauce and he sucked the applesauce off then spit them out. He likes to bang his sippy cup and chew on it. Who knew that transition was so hard on mothers?
Any suggestions?

Awesome on the allergy tests! I am sure you feel much better now that you know…

Sounds like the results were good! Slow down and let him get used to the idea of different textures. That might help the transition somewhat. All new introductions are always fun for the parents. Just the way it is!

I don’t have much advice, Aiden loves food and didn’t have a problem with the transition. You may want to try letting him use a straw cup. Aiden can do the sippy thing, but hasn’t caught on that you have to turn it up to get a drink (so someone has to hold it for him.) With the straw cup he can do it all by himself…. won’t even drink from it if your hand is on it.
I’ve heard that if you feed them the new food w/ the same flavor baby food that helps.
Good luck!!
