Havin’ fun!

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005

We went to the park with our Mom’s group today. Garret enjoyed the swings and catching up with his friends. Most of them are older and are walking so they left us behind. We climbed with Erin and Jack that was fun then played on the blanket.

We celebrated Branden’s birthday on Friday. Branden and I went to a local restaurant and took Garrett to the King’s. He had a good time but convinced Pam that he did not have to go to bed and was wide awake when we picked him up at 10:45pm. Oh well, it was nice to get out and have dinner without the baby monitor next to us.

Branden is enjoying the weather in Golden, Colorado until Wednesday then he jumps up to Providence, Rhode Island. He will be home on Friday. Garrett is looking for his Dada when we walk around the house. I think he is expecting him to jump out from around the corner. Garrett will show him his new trick when he gets home. He likes to stand up in his corral and throw his toys and watch them roll away. The cats are enjoying this new game.

His snotty nose is getting better. We did go to the doctor on Friday and got Amoxicillin for a sinus infection. Yuck! He likes his medicine so that makes it very easy to give it to him.

Time to collect all the toys he is throwing. New Pictures are up!

Ghosts, Gobblins, and Sweet Baby Carrots

Happy Halloween!!! We hope everyone had a fun and safe night!! We did, but we did not have very many Trick or Treaters. We had fun anyway and answered the door with Garrett in his costume.

Today is Garrett’s 8 month birthday!! I am not doing well with him growing up so fast. He is crawling around everywhere, well everywhere that we let him that is. He has mastered pulling up and loves to ‘walk’ hold his Daddy’s fingers. He is working on holding on to his corral with one hand and bending down to pick something up. Sometimes he forgets to hold on and falls over but he just gets right back up and does it again.

He had his first snotty nose this past week. That is not fun!! It really was not runny, just congested. He is not a fan of saline drops or the bulb sucker. He is getting better but not fast enough. We will sit out on the Mom’s group until he is better. We don’t want to be the one that gets everyone else sick.

We added more pictures so check those out and Branden put his 6-7 month pictures that he took, they are under the studio pictures.

We went to a Pumpkin Patch with Erin and his best friend Jack last week. It was fun until it was time for pictures. He was not in the mood, but we got some good ones when we got home.

If anyone can stop this baby from growing up please let me know!!

New adventures

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

We had our first meeting with our mom’s group this afternoon. We had a great time. We met at a park close to our house. Garrett got to make new friends and watch the ducks. His best friend Jack was there so that was fun!! Garrett got to try the swings for the first time. He thought that was fun. There is a new album that has pictures and videos from our day. He also discovered grass. Who knew that grass could be so much fun? He liked to get a fist full and pull it up. He also thinks that grass is for eating.

Yesterday we took his car off roading to the back yard to enjoy the wonderful weather. He enjoyed watching the airplanes fly over. He is his Daddy’s child. Check out the pictures from that too.

Hope everyone gets to play on a swing soon!!

Time Flys When You Are Having Fun!!!

Monday, October 10th, 2005

We are having SO much fun!!! Garrett is a mover and a shaker. He is crawling around everywhere and getting into everything!! He is very clever and can break down any obstacle that we put up. Sometimes I think that he is smarter than his parents! He is working on pulling up but has almost mastered sitting up. He does fine until he gets distracted then he falls over.

For now he only has 2 teeth, and we are fine with that. He is enjoying eating more and more. He is also finding his own favorite foods. Pear, bananas, sweet potatoes YEA!!! Carrots, green beans, peaches YUCK!!

Garrett is 7 months old and it is time for him to be in touch with his inner social butterfly. We joined a mom’s group and we are excited about our first event! Garrett is also very excited that his best friend Jack is in the group. They are going to have so much fun!

Oh, I almost forgot… Garrett said Da Da for the first time last week. Branden is not sure if he knows what he is saying but I do. He crawls on the floor toward Branden saying Dada dada dada. Even after all of my brainwashing Dada still comes out first. Oh well, I can’t win them all. :)

We are enjoying James’ stay with us. Garrett thinks that he is pretty funny. It is also nice to have another face around the house. I think that he likes his new job with Branden just a lot of work right now.

I think that catches everyone up for now. I will get new pictures up soon!!!

Okay, Hold On!!

This baby is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!!!!!!! He woke up today with a new friend in his mouth!! He has a new tooth!! It is on the bottom next to his other tooth. He is also working very hard on sitting up, he almost has it! He has eaten his way thru the veggies and we are currently working on the fruits. So far the only one that he will not willingly eat is green beans. Have a good weekend and watch out for Rita!!

Guess what I found today?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005

I was doing my usual check over of the baby this morning and I found out what Garrett has been working on for the past few days. Yep, that’s right I found the baby’s first TOOTH!!! It is on the bottom and you can only see a tiny corner peaking out but you can feel it when you run your finger over it. Luckily his Daddy was home and felt it as well. I have mixed emotions about this. I am happy that he is growing and hitting all of these milestones, but on the other hand I don’t want my baby to grow up. Oh well, I better get used to all of this or I will have a long road ahead of me. I thought he might be either getting a tooth or growing. He has been clingy with me lately and at times he has been a crappy apple. So, I knew something was up. No fever or other signs of getting teeth. Hopefully, he will get just one at hold off on the others for a while.

I have added a few new pictures to his photo album. I also added his first time eating squash and sweet potatoes to the green bean album. He loves squash and sweet potatoes!! YUM!!!!!! Much better than green beans! He likes peas okay but nothing like those yummy orange veggies!! There are other new pictures as well.

OH, funny story… Branden, as most of you know started a football pool a few years ago. We thought it would be funny for Garrett to participate as well. You know father son bonding. Anyway, Branden got Garrett little football helmets the size you would find in a gum ball machine that look like the real teams helmets. We put the two helmets of the teams that were playing each other on front of the baby and which ever team he picked up that was the team he picked. http://www.brw.net/media/MVI_0406.AVI Watch a video of him making his picks. The players also pick what they think total points of Monday night football will be. For this we took Garrett’s plastic numbers that he plays with in the bathtub and let him pick 2 numbers. He picked 12 for this past week. Ya know what? Baby Carrot WON!!! YA HOO!! He beat everyone including his Daddy, Mimi and Papa. He may not win again but at least he won the first week. When Garrett was born his umbilical cord was tied in a knot. We did not know this until he came out and he did not have any complications from this. But the nurses and my doctor told us that he will have good luck for the rest of his life and I guess they were right. I think we may let him pick our lotto numbers!! :)

Hope everyone is having a good week and we will get pictures of the tooth as soon as we can!!

6 month birthday

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

Happy 6 month birthday!! It does not matter how many people tell you that time will go fast. You don’t believe them until you look at the calendar and 6 MONTHS has gone by.

Well, our not so little guy weighs 16.6# and is 27 3/4 inches long. He has officially outgrown his car seat and is now in a ‘big boy’ seat. It is a convertible seat that can face the front when he is older. He seems to enjoy it. We did have a hernia scare but everything turned out ok. His urologist said ‘No hernia’. We are very thankful for that! Garrett is rolling over like a pro and is getting the hang of crawling. He can get his knees under him but he is having a little trouble getting his arms to move. He will be crawling around here in no time. Still no teeth. I’m sure that they will be here soon.

We enjoyed playing with the Nabors family on Saturday. He and Aiden loved playing together. Lauren came over and helped out, Garrett enjoyed playing with her as well.

Branden tried to put the galleries in Garrett’s photo album from the most recent first. But that did not happen it just mixed them all up. So, look through all the pages, you may just find one that you have not seen.

Wishing everyone big belly laughs at red plastic cups!

Oh man, this kid is crazy…

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

So Momma is trying to feed him cereal this morning, and he is getting a little fidgety, so she finds this red plastic cup and starts holding it up and making it pop. Garret LOVED it. So I videoed 60 seconds of him laughing his ace off.
