Bananas are for Squishing
Thursday, January 26th, 2006We are enjoying the world of table foods. Garrett is having a good time feeding himself. He does great with dry foods like Cheerios, Waffles, Gerber puffs and Wagon Wheels. But he does not like to touch squishy foods like bananas or canned veggies or fruits. He likes to take the bananas and squeeze them in his little hand and make it come out between his fingers. He will eat them if I feed them to him with a spoon. This morning he ate a baby food free breakfast. He had pancakes and ½ of a fruit cup with pears and peaches. Yummy!
Garrett is still happy with crawling. He can move very quickly and is pulling up on everything. He learned how to climb up the stairs last week. He has no desire to go back down just up. He will be playing downstairs and goes to the stairs then he crawls to his room or to his toys and starts playing. He knows what he wants, smart boy.
We were very excited to have Branden come home after his long trip to California. He took time off last week so we got spoiled again. Then he left on Monday for a quick trip to St. Paul where it was evidently very cold. He came home last night and left this morning for a meeting in Arkansas and will fly home this evening. He is ready to spend time away from the airport.
James is moving out this weekend. We will miss him. I have not told Bonzai that he won’t be sleeping here anymore. Bonzai adopted James and has missed him since he has been traveling.
Garrett and I enrolled in a KinderMusik class that will start next week. It is a class that incorporates music with learning. I am looking forward to it. www.kindermusik.com
I am having surgery on my wrist on March 27. I went for a second opinion and he said that I have tried all of the conservative methods and surgery is the only option. The surgery has a 100% cure rate. So, once it is done I won’t have to deal with it anymore. I will have a soft bandage and sutures for 10 days. It won’t be that bad, I will not have a hard cast so that helps. My mother is going to come and stay with us the week of the surgery and we are VERY happy about that. She is going to spoil us all.
Time to get ready for playgroup!
